DEXX accused of 'self-theft'? Founder responds to rumors of 'missing'
"on-chain Binance" Decentralization exchange DEXX recently experienced a hacker incident where nearly 2k USD worth of user assets disappeared. The platform publicly appealed to the hacker to return the funds and announced that an investigation has been launched. Founder Roy also responded to questions regarding "self-theft" and "going missing".
According to the official team, DEXX has received strong support from security institutions, partners, and exchange to track stolen Tokens, and is also continuously monitoring the hackers' Address in order to freeze stolen funds in a timely manner.
DEXX also urges hackers to return the stolen assets and promises to provide bug bounty and Token. Once the funds are returned, DEXX will destroy all information about the hacker currently in possession, and even stop all subsequent tracking and analysis. The hacker will no longer be held responsible.
DEXX stated that if the hacker refuses to cooperate, the team will continue to cooperate with local police, security agencies, and exchange for investigation, and take law enforcement actions to protect user assets, no matter how long it takes.
In a subsequent post, DEXX mentioned, "Tagging the hacker's address and requesting assistance from the Solana Foundation."
After being marked, hackers will not be able to deposit stolen assets into exchanges or convert them into Fiat Currency through any means. DEXX said that it is doing everything possible to trace the stolen funds and has also filed investigations in multiple locations.
According to SlowMist founder Yu Xian's statistics, the assets of over 800 DEXX users were stolen, with a total loss amounting to nearly 2k USD.
Dear users, the team has made some progress regarding the DEXX asset theft incident and has applied for marking the Hacker wallet Address through legal channels. In order to freeze the assets and recover all users' losses as quickly as possible, we urge all users to cooperate with us and leave a message in the comments section, mentioning @SolanaFndn and @Solana. In response to the external doubts of 'official self-theft' and 'responsible person missing', DEXX founder Roy also responded yesterday:
Due to special reasons, we are unable to share the current situation. Please give us some time to handle it properly.
He emphasized that DEXX did not intend to rug pull (Rug Pull) the funds. Due to the influx of a large amount of information within a short period of time that he couldn't keep up with, and the need to concentrate on dealing with the issues, he was unable to respond individually. He promised to compensate users and said that he will share the latest developments and solutions in the coming days.
