Recently, the Satoshi Nakamoto statue located in Ciani Park, Lugano, Switzerland, was stolen, drawing widespread attention from the Crypto Assets community. The statue was officially inaugurated on October 25, 2024, and is a significant outcome of the Plan B initiative, a collaboration between the city of Lugano and Tether.

The sculpture was meticulously crafted by Italian artist Valentina Piccozi, after 18 months of in-depth research and 3 months of fine carving. This piece of art is not only a tribute to Bitcoin founder Satoshi Nakamoto but also symbolizes the importance of blockchain technology in contemporary society.

However, just as the statue was erected for less than half a year, criminals actually stole it. This act not only damaged public property but also offended the entire Crypto Assets community. Currently, the local police have launched an investigation, but have not disclosed more details.

This theft incident has once again sparked discussions about the security of physical memorabilia related to Crypto Assets. Some industry insiders believe that this may prompt relevant authorities to strengthen protective measures for such public artworks. At the same time, this incident also highlights the influence of Satoshi Nakamoto and the Bitcoin he created on a global scale, even attracting the attention of criminals.

As the investigation progresses, Crypto Assets enthusiasts are calling on community members to provide relevant clues, hoping to quickly recover this artwork, which holds significant symbolic meaning. Regardless, this incident will undoubtedly leave a special record in the history of Crypto Assets.
